How to Change the Pallet on an Over Under Conveyor

You may need to remove or replace a pallet for retooling, adjusting the number of pallets, or performing repairs on the pallet or conveyor itself.

STEPS FOR CHANGING PALLET ON AN OVER UNDER CONVEYOR

*REMINDER: ALWAYS FOLLOW LOCK OUT TAG OUT (LOTO) PROCEDURES AND TURN OFF POWER BEFORE WORKING ON THE CONVEYOR.*

1. Remove all guarding from end of conveyor

Ensure all safety guards are taken off to access the conveyor.

2. Measure distance to bolt for reassembly

Note the distance to the bolt for accurate reassembly later.

3. Loosen bolts to reduce chain tension

Loosen the bolts to decrease tension on the conveyor chain.

4. Move bearing forward to locate the master link

Push the bearing forward to find the master link on the chain.

5. Remove master link & separate chain

Disconnect the master link to separate the conveyor chain.

6. Slide pallet off the end of the conveyor to remove it

Carefully slide the pallet off the end of the over under conveyor.

7. Slide pallet back on to replace

Replace with a new pallet by sliding it onto the conveyor.

8. Check pallet direction for proper reassembly

Ensure the pallet is correctly oriented. The pallet with a single notch should lead in the direction of travel.

9. Re-assemble the chain

Reconnect the conveyor chain by securing the master link.

10. Pull bearing back and tighten bolts

Move the bearing back to its original position and tighten the bolts.

11. Measure spring and tighten to previous length

Adjust the spring to its original measurement and tighten accordingly.

12. Replace all guarding

Reinstall all safety guards to complete the process.
