OVERVIEW OF GENERAL END OF ARM TOOLING APPLICATIONS
End of arm tooling (EOAT) on robotic systems is an essential part of an automation project. The specific tooling is what gives the robot it’s function.
The various tooling may allow the robot to grip, pick and place boxes, pick and place product, or utilize vision. Additionally, a single end of arm tool can give the robot multiple functions, such as handling freezer sheets and handling boxes all in one.
There are also many different ways that the end of arm tooling may be powered: mechanically, electrically, and pneumatically. Each serving a particular purpose depending on the needs of a project.
ZETA’S END OF ARM TOOLING FOR DEPALLETIZING/PALLETIZING
At Zeta Group, we provide custom end of arm tooling on our robotics systems. For this blog we will be highlighting the end of arm tooling for our fully automated depalletizing/palletizing system: Zeus.
Type of Tooling:
For Zeus, we utilize vacuum tools to handle freezer sheets, boxes, slip sheets, and bags.
Tooling Features:
Depalletizing and palletizing requires a specific function of each robot, therefore we create customized tooling to allow each robot to achieve these functions. Some features of the end of arm tools include.
Multi-Zone Control
Slip Sheet Handling
Freezer Sheet Handling
Bag Handling
